Huun Huur Tu
Today (Feb. 3), 8 p.m., Lincoln Theatre
It’s impossible to be in two places at one time except in time-traveling sci-fi tales. But throat singers accomplish something nearly as incredible by producing two or more notes at the same time. The overtone-infused genre is commonly associated with Tibet, but Huun Huur Tu hails from Tuva, a republic between Siberia and Mongolia. The group’s miraculous voices are accompanied by instruments as ancient and traditional as the music itself, but Huun Huur Tu also has added modern instruments such as guitar. In fact, at times it’s even delved into electronic music, but you probably won’t hear anything that experimental on the Lincoln stage. Tickets to the CityMusic presentation are $26, $21 for seniors, $11 for students, and can be ordered through CAPA, 614-469-0939, or Ticketmaster, ticketmaster.com.
