Caravan Music brings to the U.S. Pedro Moraes, one of the rising stars in Brazilian Contemporary Music. In the tradition of Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento and Antonio Carlos Jobim: unpredictable melodies, brazilian and latin rhythms, daring arrangements and an explosive stage performance. Brazilian press says: "Brilliant! A moment of bliss!"
Considered one of the most important composers and singers in the new Brazilian Popular Music scenario, Pedro Moraes´ career officially began 10 years ago with an unforseen episode of international acknowledgement. Mexican rising jazz star Magos Herrera, deeply influenced by brazilian classics, brought to wide audiences in her country two songs by Pedro, which led him to a short and successfull tour to Mexico City and New York. Upon returning to Brazil, Pedro became one of the leaders of a generation that´s been breaking grounds in brazilian songwriting, organizing and taking part in several collective projects, such as the “Brotherhood of Free Music” (2003/2004).
The concert “Pedro Moraes – Claroescuro” is a vigorous showcase of brazilian rhythms, with Pedro´s rhythmically rich guitar and deep vocals supported by a powerhouse formed by three of today´s most significant brazilian instrumentalists. On the drums, Elcio Cafaro, who´s played with Ivan Lins, João Bosco, Luiz Melodia and a host of brazilian stars; on the bass, Ricardo Sá Reston, springing from Hermeto Paschoal´s brazilian jazz school; on the electric guitar, Daniel Marques, who has toured extensively through Europe´s most important festivals with his solo guitar concert. 10/02/10
