In early 2012 Del Castillo will release their latest project entitled Infinitas Rapsodias and will support this release with the INFINITAS TOUR starting 3 March in Zurich and ending on 25 March in Berlin. 

This new CD/DVD project is jam-packed with dynamic new songs, plus favorite picks and newly arranged songs from their catalog, and many video and musical surprises.

The audio CD features some of Austin’s favorite artists such as guitarist Monte Montgomery and singers Malford Milligan and Leann Atherton. Violinists/gypsy fiddlers Erik Hokkanen and Phoebe Hunt perform on the CD. It also includes a song featuring producer and pianist Carl Thiel, and finishes off with a very special track with none other than German opera diva, Anna Maria Kaufmann.

The DVD will have five different video tracks all shot in HD. The first video being a behind-the-scenes look, up-close-and-personal with Del Castillo, and the making of the entire project. It will include the video for the song entitled “Canta de Alma”, shot by the band while on tour in Europe in 2011. Other videos include three jam session videos, favorite cover songs by Del Castillo, “Listen To The Music”, “What A Wonderful World” and a slamming guitar driven rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” with special guest guitarist Monte Montgomery.

Infinitas Rapsodias will be distributed in North America by RED/SONY and in Europe by their label and distribution partners The Music Agents GbR (Blue Label) / Soul Food.

Del Castillo began as a CD project for family back in the winter of 2000 and has become a symbol of the cross-cultural power of music with their eclectic blend of Flamenco, Rock, Latin, Blues, and World music. This frequently awarded group from Austin, Texas and is without a doubt one of the finest bands on the planet.

Brothers Rick and Mark del Castillo founded Del Castillo both award winning guitarists. Front man and lead singer is the charismatic Alex Ruiz. Albert Besteiro (bass), Mike Zeoli (drums) and Jason Murdy (percussion) make up the dynamic rhythm section.

Between the release of their first CD, Brothers of the Castle in 2001, to their 2009 self-titled release, Del Castillo, the Band has received an astonishing 23 awards including SXSW/Austin Music "Album of the Year"; Awards for Vida (2002) and Brotherhood (2006); "Band of the Year (2003)"; ASCAP’s "Best Independent Group of the Year (2005)"; and Austin Music Pundits "Best Live Act (2004)". The awards just keep coming!

For the past two years, Del Castillo has toured extensively in the US and Europe in support of their albums Del Castillo, which was released in Germany recently and their new European only release Texas Gitano Amor.  Del Castillo played numerous festivals, theatres, clubs, and corporate concert events, including being invited to play Hermes EAGLES Präsidenten Golf Cup 2011 Gala in Portugal.

Del Castillo has toured and played with such diverse acts as Styx, Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli, Don Henley, Los Lobos, and Willie Nelson and continues touring non-stop. They have performed at three of Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnics, and at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. They have made numerous regional, national, and international TV appearances.

Their songs have appeared in such movies as Kill Bill II, Sin City, Once upon A Time In Mexico Machete and Spy Kids just to name a few. Their song “Café Sin Leche” was awarded Hollywood Media and Music’s “Best Instrumental” in 2009.

Del Castillo recently performed a beautiful, unique song in collaboration with Carlos Santana and Willie Nelson, all for The Hermes Music Foundation Charity. The song "Claro Que Suede" (Yes We Can) is featured on their website.
