The music trio Genticorum hail from the province of Quebec in Canada, and their music is an amalgamation of old and new, combining various folk, Celtic and world music traditions and traditional Quebec folk music with modern composition.
Much of their music features antiquated flourishes such as call-and-response singing and foot percussion. They approach their music with an obvious passion - a ‘joie de vivre,’ if you will.
The concert is brought to the Camp Hill United Methodist Church by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. Opening for Genticorum is Appalachian fiddler Matt Brown, whose recent studies in Quebec have delved into comparing Appalachian music with that of the Quebecoise traditions.
Preceding the concert at 6 p.m. will be a potluck dinner. 04/04/12
