The quartet Kmang-Kmang consists of the intriguing mix of guitar (Barney Ung), violin (Brandi Berry), bass (Sam Filip) and drums (Jeff Fortin) along with a couple of cameos by French horn and flute. The music varies between folk-classical and garage rock. Highlights like “Structure in Emotion” capture an exotic third world breath with European textures, while “Glass” ruminates like a moody folk piece. A bit of club edginess surfaces on “in the Dangers Of My Imagination” creating a few crevices in an otherwise clear glass of sounds.
