Internationalist sentiments are set to Balkan brass and thumping beats on this new album from the Marseilles collective. “Im Nin’alu”, woozy with clarinet and dudouk, faintly echoes Ofra Haza’s version; “We Are One” mutters slyly about the “Apartheid Wall” between the US and Mexico, between “Isaac and Ishmael”.
Elsewhere, gritty desert guitars crunch and grind, and sampled voices hector.
