The Feel Your Presence Tour featuring Virgin Islands reggae pioneer Niyorah alongside Toussaint ‘The Liberator' and Tuff Lion, all backed by the Jah Current Band is making a stop at Cooper's in Nevada City on Tuesday.
Covering California, Oregon and Washington, the Feel Your Presence Tour is a trailblazing one, linking roots, reggae, dub, dancehall and soul music and putting the soul back into the roots for reggae, soul and music fans of all kinds.
As one of a handful of Virgin Islands artists who have helped to energize roots reggae's conscious message while setting a new standard for the music, Niyorah ‘is' reggae for many current music fans.
Toussaint, former lead singer for Stax Records / Blue Note recording group Soulive, links American Soul and Caribbean Roots with pitch perfect vocals and a magnetic stage presence.
Both Niyorah and Toussaint have new albums on the street. Niyorah, who released his new album Feel Your Presence (Denkenesh Records) in June is at the forefront of contemporary roots while Toussaint's debut solo album Black Gold (I Grade Records) emphasizes a magnetic soul roots sound and will be available this month.
