London born, Johannesburg raised, Milan trained and New York based singer, composer and arranger, Christine Vaindirlis is a true globetrotter who’s remarkable journey has always seemed to find its way back to the land that first stole her heart, South Africa. Christine is an artist who has had a profound impact in the many facest of the music industry, from being the co- founder of Ubuntu Entertainment, a composer for Deepa Grooves a New York House Music Label, an aassistant manager at Guitar Center and a Production manager for JSM, a prestigious music production house also in New York City. Adding together her string of connection to the music industry its no wounder why she is still present and still going strong.
Paying to tribute to Africa’s most influential Jazz musicians, Christine is wrapping up the work on her soon to be released debut album, “Dance Mama”; a tribute album to the legendary musicians who paved the way for artistry which include Hugh Masekela, Abdullah Ibrahim, Mahotella Queens, Robbie Jansen and the late Mama Mirriam Makeba. The most important element of the album is the concept of Ubuntu, a very important word amongst the African culture which means “Humanity”. To be considerate, respectful, helpful and trustworthy to those around you. The album in its way showcases her love for African people from they different cultures, music and over all they creative way’s. The album is infused with a mixture of high energy beat accompanied by the educational messages carried by her lovely voice which has been said to be a bridging gap between the Mahotella Queens and Mama Makeba.
Christine Vaindirlis is an intoxicating artist who’s energy will have you confused as to which generation does she belong to. Her stage presents speaks volume and her love for sharing the culture connected to “Mama Africa” through her own artistryis amazing. “Dance Mama” is schedule to be released in the USA early November 2009 and the anticipation from her fans is great as the history connected to the quality of work she does has always been positive.
