A free concert, sponsored by Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in celebration of its 100th anniversary, attracted an estimated 600 people to Boarding House Park in downtown Lowell last Saturday night.
The French-Canadian folk trio, Genticorum, had concert-goers clapping, singing, and dancing on the grassy venue. Genticorum has appeared at the Lowell Folk Festival and its four albums have met with critical acclaim in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. The group has performed more than 800 concerts in 15 different countries.
“The free concert was designed as another way to share our 100th anniversary celebration with the community,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “At Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, we are strong believers in giving back, and we recognize that Jeanne D’Arc would not be as successful as we are today without the support of the community.”
As part of the celebration, concert attendees were given free t-shirts and beach balls by Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union employees.
The concert is one of a number of events and giveaways Jeanne D’Arc is holding throughout its 100th anniversary year.
