Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming film, My Name is Khan, has a fine soundtrack with six new tracks. The film is sure to be a hit, and the music, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan- Loy, is infused with Sufi inspired sounds and features vocalists Rahat Fateh Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Adnan Sami. The music is somber, moody, and floats along a rhythm that’s likely to permeate throughout the film, as it does in the boombox. There’s the underlying rock foundation of “Rang De,” along with the meditative sufi tracks “Sajdah,” “Nooe E Khudah,” “Tere Naina,” and “Allah Ki Raham,” with its folky ghazal blend. The soundtrack, which also includes past hits “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Suraj Huwa Madham,” “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” and “Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna,” is slated for release in mid February. 02/08/10
